'Making life easier' is our promise to you. From the initial enquiry we have a systematic response enabling us to deliver a timely, professional quotation that will comply with the many authorities involved in this area of work.
Each project has its own specific requirements and we have the experience to suggest the most appropriate design to meet, and in most cases exceed, the expectations of all involved. We will confer with the various departments, local councils, health professionals and equipment manufacturers and suppliers to design the most appropriate facility to suit the customer’s needs.
If required, plans and specifications will be prepared and submitted to the local council for approval. We are a fully licensed construction company with an experienced team of tradesmen. Regardless of size or complexity, our team will deliver.
Construction Types
Our focus is to improve the accessibility of built and natural environments for people with mobility challenges to allow them the freedom to enjoy as independent a lifestyle as possible.
We do this by adapting existing homes, workplaces and social venues to suit specific needs, or by designing and building premises for specific purposes. Some of the most common areas of need are detailed below.
Wheelchair ramps and rails
There are many different types and sizes of ramps that are suitable for different applications. Some of the more popular ramps we can provide or construct are:
- step ramps made from environmentally friendly recycled rubber
- timber ramps for shorter runs
- concrete and brickwork construction for longer runs
Handrails are chosen to blend with the architecture of the surrounding elements.
Door Widening
A wheelchair requires doorways to be of a generous width. Standard buildings have doorways that are either difficult to negotiate or unsuitable for wheelchair access. We supply and install doors to suit specific needs and modify existing doorways to provide wider opening widths. Automatic openers can also be fitted.
Bathrooms and Laundries
People with specific needs require easy to use bathrooms and laundries. There are many ways to make life easier for the user of these facilities. We design and build durable, user friendly bathrooms and laundries to suit any situation.
Kitchens
The kitchen, whether at home or in the workplace, is the hub of social activity. We can design and construct new or renovate existing kitchens to suit all needs. The types of styles and finishes are endless, providing us with the scope to make this important centre of activity both attractive and functional for everyone.
Stair Lifts
Where a ramp is not a practical solution, a motorised seat, mounted on a rail, can be installed to carry a person up and down existing stairs. For those who are wheelchair bound, a larger stair platform lift can be installed, enabling the user to access the stairs whilst remaining in their chair. Building modifications are sometimes required which can also be organised and dealt with by us.
Lifts and Elevators
Disabled access lifts can be retro-fitted to many existing buildings. We design and build the space required for this equipment so that it can be installed with a minimum of fuss. Whether the lift height is less than a metre, or several floors high, there is a device in the market place that can be installed to suit your needs.
Hoists
Portable hoists are readily available. For those areas with limited headroom an overhead rail mounted hoist and sling may be a better solution. We modify existing structures to enable installation of such devices. For those needing access to pools and spas we can organise ramps and lifting equipment to enable the pursuit of therapeutic treatments and leisure activities.
Access to the outdoor environment
For people with limited or challenged mobility, negotiating the outdoor environment need not be a problem. Some of the popular solutions that we provide are:
